PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Greetings OCASA Members!

My name is Nate Hay, and I am incredibly proud and honored to serve as President of the Orange County Association of School Administrators (OCASA) for the 2023-2024 school year. I also serve as Principal of Lake Silver Elementary. I am entering my 20th year with OCPS and 11th year as an administrator. I have proudly served the following OCPS schools: Maxey ES, Spring Lake ES, Wolf Lake ES, Lake Silver ES, Lake Weston ES, Rock Springs ES, and Baldwin Park ES.

As an association, we strive to provide unwavering support and advocacy for principals and assistant principals, enabling them to excel in their critical roles as educational leaders. Together, we have the opportunity to shape the future of education and make a profound difference in the lives of our students.

Thank you for helping us increase our membership numbers. We hope you continue spreading the word and bringing new school-based administrators to our association. When it is time to justify whom we represent and are advocating for, there is strength in numbers. Let us continue increasing those numbers and work as a united front. Our goal this year is to have at least 70% of school-based administrators join us, so if you have an administrator on your campus that has not yet joined OCASA, please encourage them to!

I invite each and every one of you to actively engage with OCASA, take advantage of the resources and opportunities we offer, and participate in our events. Your input and contributions are invaluable, as they allow us to shape our initiatives to meet your specific needs. Whether you are seeking guidance, mentoring, or simply a platform to voice your concerns, OCASA is here for you.

Our board and I are fully committed to continuing to support each of you through the various challenges we encounter as administrators. We will continue to meet monthly with our Superintendent or Deputy Superintendent to collaborate on improving our work environments and obtain the support and resources we need to lead our schools.

I encourage you to join us in this transformative journey. Together, we can empower and uplift one another, ensuring a brighter future for our schools, our administrators, and most importantly, our students. If you are not a member and wish to join, don’t hesitate to contact me via email or our membership chair  Dr, Monica Gordon, and we will get you signed up. Don’t forget to visit our website myocasa.net for updates.

Thank you for trusting us and know that we hear you and are here to serve you

Sincerely,
Nate Hay
